  It's Sunday, during a snowstorm. Catamount is packed and the butte restaurant is closed due to bad weather. The only reason I am not giving this place 1 star is because I haven't had a chance to eat here yet. I'm sure the place is great, but to give us the weather excuse at a ski resort is very unsettling.

  Dining in the Berkshires can be hit or miss, a transient, tourist customer base frequently means hastily prepared food and so-so service. There are a few restaurants that do break this mold and the Swiss Hutte is one of them. Consistently good if not excellent food and intelligent, attentive service, a setting as lovely as it gets, as well as linen on the table make for a far better than average experience. Thankfully its a bit out of the way for most tourists so getting a table with a little advance notice is a possibility, making for mostly a local crowd. The owners deserve substantial cresit for providing such an exemplary redoubt for those seeking a memorable country dinner with a European touch.
